Age-old teachers, mystics, and philosphers have tried to teach us about the great workings of the Law of Attraction. There have been many writings that gives us a sneak peek at its potency. Whether you understand the law or not, it is still working every second of the day. You might as well read on and learn what it is.
At its fundamental level, the Law of Attraction states that everything is created by thought, and that thought attracts physical things, people, situations, and circumstances. Your thoughts are attracting these things at this very moment. Our bodies, personalities, characteristics, physical, mental, and emotional attributes are all created by our thinking.
History of the Law of Attraction
In the movie, The Secret, it was stated that this law was hidden for centuries. It wasn't really as much of a secret as you think. The Law of Attraction is an unyielding, never bending, unbreakable universal rule that existed since the begining of time.
There is evidence showing that mankind has known about this great law for thousands of years. However, the teaching of universal truths became clouded due to corrupt leaders who wanted to keep the masses in check.
Fabled Authors and Modern Day Philosophers
It was largely at the beginning of the 20th century that the general public started to become aware of this great law through the writings of James Allen, Napoleon Hill, and Charles Haanel.
Wallace D. Wattles, born in 1860 and died in 1911, was also a forward thinking person. In his book, The Science Of Getting Rich, he tells us that there is a "thinking stuff" from which all things are made, which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. How revolutionary that assertion was in 1910.
Another author, Charles F. Haanel (1866-1949), developed a 24-part distance learning course based on the New Thought movement. It was eventually condensed into one volume called The Master Key System. The book is a complete guide to using the Law of Attraction.
Napoleon Hill revealed Andrew Carnegie's great Secret to the world when he wrote Think & Grow Rich in 1937 - that thoughts create things.
James Allen wrote As a Man Thinketh in 1912. In the book, he tells his readers that the mind is the master-weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may have already been woven in ignorance and pain, they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness.
When you truly understand the Law of Attraction and begin to work with it, your life will surely change in fantastic, unexpected, and unlimited ways. Use this gift and visualize the life that you really want to live.
